35. Say
loving and nurturing affirmations out loud in front of your
mirror at home. If you do this every day for a month or two,
you’ll find yourself changing. A number of famous actors and
actresses do this every day to keep up their confidence and to
maintain a positive outlook on life.
36. Make
a list of as many positive things about yourself as you can
think of. Put fun stickers or pictures on the list. You can
buy stickers at your local stationery or office supply store or
a major chain store. Hang the list on your wall or put it in
your wallet and look at it regularly.
37.
Write a love letter to “you”
telling yourself how wonderful you are. Drop it in the mail
and enjoy re-reading it. I’ve done this and it’s amazing how
powerful it is to get a really nurturing letter in the mail. It
almost seems like someone else wrote it. You could pick out a
special card from the store to go with the letter if you like.
38. Practice
not criticizing yourself for an entire day. On this day let
go of mistakes quickly and easily without judgment. You could
also practice not criticizing others for an entire day.
39. Leave
a loving or encouraging motivational message on your own
phone machine. For example: “Hi (your name), I think you are a
wonderful, thoughtful, creative person” or “(Your name), you did
a great job on that project and I want to congratulate you”.
You could also send yourself a loving message in an email.
40.
Allow yourself to bask in the glow of your successes (enjoy the
feeling). When others are congratulating you, just enjoy how
good this feels. You might also want to notice how good it feels
when you compliment others.
